When Doris hears her dad leave, she’s positive the dog is going to the pound.

Parents state they can’t afford the dog. They ignore Doris when she praises dog.

13 Need to know A prediction is a logical guess about what will happen in a story. Use your prior knowledge to help you make predictions. Relate what you already know to the details in a story.
