2 Challenges in college study
There are many challenge to study in college: Fresh out of high school Taking online courses Breaks in study Distractions Busy social life Other obligations—job, club, hobbies Family duties Not enough time—time management issue

3 Students get together to study
In college, students are expected to be independent, but it doesn’t mean students cannot study with like minded studious friends. Studying together can have many benefits: encourage exchange of ideas, answer questions, stay ahead, and keep on track wit academic progress.

4 MyStudyBuddy app MyStudyBuddy helps students to find and connect with course mates and tutors in the school. Once connected, the study buddies can meet offline or use app features to discuss all things regarding study. Real-time text and video chat Study notes exchange Option to save to iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive Schedule study sessions, set alerts using calendar Integration with school for verification Privacy settings, manage profile, my buddy list

5 MyStudyBuddy: Target users
They are high school and college students, age 15 through 29, and live anywhere where the app is available: They use the app at school, home, public places where high speed data service is available They have used study aids type apps but have not used similar apps or don’t know about them. Studies on their own, or with friends outside class They have in common: Experienced with studying with others Feels encouraged, enthusiastic and hopeful about their academic achievement and outlook Desire or feel the need to study with others and benefited from it

7 Process: personas Sandy age 19, college sophomore
Kyle age 16, HS Sophomore Kyle has been maintaining very high GPA but since becoming a member of the schools marching band, he finds studying time significantly shortened. He is not satisfied with his progress in one of the honor class he is taking. He wants to find a tutor who can guide him to achieve better results. The app can help him find a senior student who can tutor him on the subject matter. Sandy age 19, college sophomore She is a foreign language major. She is someone enjoys social aspect of college but find studying independent still challenging and sometimes distracting. She wants to study with others so she can stay on track toward her academic goals. The app can help her find other students feel the same. Gracie age 24, graduate school She is preparing for GRE and as well as enrolled in several technical courses that are prerequisites. Because his undergrad major is liberal arts, he find some of the technical subjects challenging to grasp. He wants to find a course mate to study together and find a tutor for certain subjects. The app can hep him find both.

8 Process: concept sketches & user flows
The sketches are portion of initial finding and connecting with other Study Buddy users after install and sign up. When the new user opens the app, the home screen is a map view of study buddies near by. The user flow also follows initial find and connect with study buddy, how a buddy is saved to the list, and opening or scheduling a study/chat session.
