Designed for students with aptitude in math/science
Required for those who want to take Honors Chemistry II for college credit
Includes additional topics: gas stoichiometry, thermochemistry, acid/base chemistry, chemical kinetics, redox reactions, electrochemistry, and nuclear chemistry
Kansas Board of Regents requires either 1 year of chemistry or 1 year of physics for Qualified Admissions
Prerequisites: Biology/Honors Bio I, Algebra I, enrolled in higher math and science teacher recommendation

11. Forensics Science Comprehensive
This course is a qualified admissions science credit course for both graduating high school and attending college. It is designed for students on the Law Enforcement Career Pathway track; however, it is open to all students

12. Anatomy & Physiology
College preparatory course or Newman college credit with cumulative 3.0 GPA
Course is designed for students who have a strong desire to go into some medical or related field as doctors, nurses, technicians, and/or therapists
Anyone who has interest in physical education and/or coaching are also encouraged to take this course

14. Principles of Biomedical Science
This is the introductory course of the PLTW Biomedical Science program, students explore concepts of biology and medicine to determine factors that led to the death of a fictional person. While investigating the case, students examine autopsy reports, investigate medical history, and explore medical treatments that might have prolonged the person’s life. The activities and projects introduce students to human physiology, basic biology, medicine, and research processes while allowing them to design their own experiments to solve problems.
