2. Chemistry Options (Mostly Juniors)  1. Conceptual Chemistry In this course, real world applications of chemistry are explored with reduced mathematics. Topics include the chemistry of water, metals and resources, petroleum, food, and nuclear chemistry. Proficiency in algebra is required to be successful in this class.

3. Chemistry Options (Mostly Juniors) 2. Regular Chemistry- This course is designed as a college-preparatory course in Chemistry. You must have a “B” or better in Algebra 1 to take this course. Topics covered include state of matter, atomic structure, balancing equations, and organic chemistry 3. Honors Chemistry- This course gives more rigorous treatment of the chemistry above. An application requiring a teacher recommendation is required. A placement test will be required if too many people enroll.

4. Physics Options (Mostly Seniors) 1.Conceptual Physics Designed for student success regardless of math level 2.Regular Physics A college-prep class requiring a fair degree of mathematical sophistication and a desire to learn. A “B” or better in Algebra and Geometry is Required

5. Physics Options (Mostly Seniors) 3. Honors Physics- This non-calculus based Physics class is designed for the capable and motivated student and will only be offered if enrollment permits. An application is required for this class. This course will result in a weighted grade. It parallels the AP Physics B curriculum, but the topics of modern Physics and thermodynamics are left out so that the pace can be more manageable for first year students. You will be given a placement test in mathematics in the late Spring to see if you demonstrate proficiency to be successful in this class.

6. Engineering (Seniors Only)  A course for students strongly considering a career in engineering.  Topics covered in this class include Structures, Computer Programming, Aerospace, and Robotics  An application is required for this class. Students must be enrolled in or have taken Physics. It is also helpful if you are enrolled in Calculus.

Biology Options (Juniors & Seniors) 1.AP Biology This course parallels an Introductory Course in Biology and includes study of molecules and cells, genetics and evolution, and organisms and populations. Purchase of a textbook required. You must also have completed Chemistry or be enrolled in Chemistry concurrently.

Biology Options (Juniors & Seniors) 2.Anatomy-Honors A college-prep class that is built on academic rigor and prepares students for the challenges of studying to achieve a career in a medical related field. A “B” or better in Biology and a “B” or better in Chemistry or concurrent enrollment in Chemistry are required. This course will result in a weighted grade.

10. Biology Options (Juniors and Seniors)  3. Marine Biology Marine Biology is a laboratory-based exploration of the marine ecosystems found in them. They explore the biology of the marine organisms, topography, chemistry, and diversity of resources found in the ocean. This course will include an incorporation of concepts learned in Earth Science, Biology, and Chemistry. Many dissections of marine life will be performed.

11. AP Environmental Science Prerequisites: Completion of Biology and Geometry with a “B” or better. Completion of Chemistry and Algebra 2 with a grade of “B” or better strongly encouraged. Purchase of a textbook required Topics covered include science as a process, ecological processes and energy conversions, identifying environmental problems and proposing solutions.
