2 What we are trying to figure out:
Problem 1: How do flight delays vary among different airline carriers? Do the SIZE or TYPE of an airline influence its certain aspect of delay? The size of an airline is measured by the amount of flights it operated from July 2013 to 2014. Airlines are categorized into Major airlines, Low-cost Airlines and Regional airlines. Do extreme values exists? If so, what causes the different delay pattern? Problem 2: Do a certain type of delay have a less stable pattern than others? How are they more unpredictable?

3 Although several carriers(Frontier, American Eagle, JetBlue, Express) have higher percentage of delay than others, the size of carriers does not determine their total percentage of delay. New Variables: Percentage of Delay = Total delay flights / total flights Delay Ratio Airline Carriers (sorted from small to large)

4 Different types of delay do not follow certain trends among carriers
Different types of delay do not follow certain trends among carriers. Late aircraft, Carrier and NAS delays accounted for the major portion of the total delay. The percentages of delay due to Weather and Security reasons are significantly smaller than the rest. Percentage of Total Delay Late aircraft 39% Carrier 29% NAS 29% Security 0.15% Weather 3% Airline Carriers (sorted from small to large) New Variables: Percentage of Total Delay = Certain Delay Count /Total Delay Count of Carrier
