18 BECSys VFD VFD BECSys BECS is focusing activity on the interaction of our Water Chemistry Systems with Variable Frequency Drives/Pumps

19 Water Chemistry – VFD Integration
Benefits of water chemistry/VFD Integration Piggy-backing Ease of Use Water Quality improvement Ongoing enhancement

20 Integration Benefits: Piggy-Backing
Convenience: We already have functions and features in place familiar to the aquatics industry Why establish duplicate, parallel, separate systems? Multiple systems to install, learn, maintain, support, etc. User Interface Data Logging Remote Access / PC Software Unified Alarm Notification and Setup How else will you set up remote alarm notification? And BECS is further innovating and developing Why not take advantage of these facilities, regardless of the manufacturer of the VFD?

21 Integration Benefits: Ease of Use
Water Chemistry controllers are customized to the aquatics application User Interface Terminology, Manuals, Wiring Diagrams, etc are all market-specific. More than piggy-backing: a VFD will be less intimidating if considered part of the water chemistry system Installation / Startup The most simple (and cost-effective) VFD will work Inputs can be brought into the BECSys controller system Intelligence built into the BECSys controller, so VFD need only run a very basic “slave” program

22 Integration Benefits: Ease of Use
Programming BECSys controller knows the difference between a circ pump and a feature pump Will know specific requirements of different feature pumps Water slide pump programming may differ from Lazy River Analysis Water quality readings graphed with pump readings pH, ORP, temperature… flow rate, TDH Alarms show together in Event Log Status Reports include water chemistry and pump info

23 Integration Benefits: Water Quality
Can we modify the pump rate to actively improve water quality? Filtration System support (BECSys7) Filter Backwash can adjust pump rate (even stop) to support particular BW requirements More sophisticated filtration opportunities will benefit from control integration Advanced control algorithms May adjust pump rate based upon water quality inputs Blended flow rate; real-time peak/off-peak flow rate determination, with daily minimum average rate. Europe already going here; North America may not be quite ready yet, but we will get there

24 Integration Benefits: Ongoing Development
BECS is committed to ongoing development of General Capabilities - networking, remote access, data analysis, etc. Specific VFD algorithms If integrated, advancements will include VFDs PC software improvements VFD algorithms – BECSys firmware release If separate… VFD reprogramming for new features? What about remote access?
