Full page minimum (we will start with a half a page and progress to this length)

Purpose is to get used to writing on demand about anything and everything!
Grading:
Journals will be checked at random at least once a week as a MINOR grade.
At the end of the 9 week term, students will turn in their complete journals for a MAJOR grade.
Teachers will be checking for correct formatting, neatness, and ability to remain on topic.
Absences:
Students are responsible for every single journal entry whether he/she is present or not.
Journals are posted on teacher website daily

4. DO NOT…
Use your journal for note taking or any other task unrelated to bellwork
Go off topic, use profanity, or write about inappropriate situations
Write down movie plots or song lyrics to trick your teacher into thinking you are writing. All journals will be graded at the end of the 9 week period!
Take journals out of the room for any reason. Journals are stored in bins labeled by blocks.
If you are home sick, and you would like to catch up on journals, you can write on your own paper and paste it into your composition book when you return.
Attempt to read a journal that does not belong to you. Journals are personal and should only be shared with permission from the writer. RESPECT YOUR PEERS!
