Supplemental Flu Ordering is still open for submission of supplemental orders for the following products:

5. Return of Expired Influenza Doses
FluMist
Expired doses of FluMist should be returned to VFC’s national vaccine distributor, McKesson Specialty.
Doses should be returned using the same process for the return of all other VFC-supplied vaccines.

6. LHD Influenza Purchase 2011-2012
CDPH has identified funds for the limited purchase of influenza vaccine for the season. 
CDPH will be purchasing fewer than half of the number of doses purchased for

16. PBE information
California Health and Safety Code, Section states that parents have the right to an exemption from immunization required for school because of personal beliefs. California law does not require schools to notify parents about the personal belief exemption. Even so, information for schools and the public about exemptions is readily available at and elsewhere.

...The ‘National Vaccine Information Center’ (NVIC), unaffiliated with local, state or federal public health, has been contacting schools in California about its interpretation of PBE procedures for the new Tdap law.

Send reminder and recall phone calls and notices NOW to patients who have not yet received a Tdap booster
including those who have received Td but not Tdap.
Order enough Tdap and other adolescent vaccines; ensure you have adequate refrigerator storage – for many clinics, multiple orders will be indicated.
Immunize with Tdap NOW at every opportunity
e.g., sports physicals & visits for mild illness or injury
Give other recommended immunizations and care

Provide clear and accurate documentation about Tdap immunization to your patients and their schools.
CAIR – consider printing Blue Card for patients

Have parents check with their child’s school about how they should provide the Tdap documentation.
