2 Who Can Drive Over 21 2 years or more since passing test
UK or EU licence No Points Full (manual) licence not automatic

3 Non UK/EU drivers Most countries have a reciprocal agreement with the UK Contact DVLA and ask them to issue a UK DVLA number

4 Rules for booking Can only be used for a legitimate club or society booking No private/personal use Drivers cannot receive payment for driving

5 Legitimate Use examples
Sports match – either watching or playing Day trip organised by club or society Transport to society or club conference Activity organised by club or society but not relating to that group e.g. cricket club going paintballing RAG event This list is not exhaustive. If in doubt…ask)

Telling us you are doing one thing when you are doing something else

7 Booking the bus You will need: specific dates and number of people going See the minibus availability timetable on the resource hub to check that there is a bus available You may need to provide additional details such as if you need a space for kit You will only be given a bus if you have completed the Driver Registration Form, Minibus Booking form and Trip Registration form at the time of booking

8 Charges Union Busses: £85 per day. Payment will be taken from your club account the following month

9 The Rules You must complete the check sheet before taking the bus. Only travel if you are happy with the condition of the bus Union busses are full on collection. They need to be returned full. You will be fined if you do not do this Keys and busses need to be returned Union busses have AA cover. If you break down call the emergency number in the RED folder

10 The Rules Seatbelts must be worn
No alcohol is to be consumed on the bus No smoking or vaping on the bus Clean up all rubbish and mess. Do not put muddy boots on the seats If someone vomits on the bus please let the Opportunities Office know If you have an accident, however minor, please let the Opportunities Office know

11 BUCS Minibuses The rules still apply Lucie will book your transport
You must let Lucie know if you decide to take your own vehicle instead of the one booked for you The bus still needs to be refuelled – keep your receipt to be reimbursed from BUCS funds

12 Fines Bus not refuelled: £30 plus cost of fuel Bus left in a mess: £30
Vomit: £60 to cover cost of valet Bus not returned on time: £30 plus cost of additional hire time Drinking on the bus/improper use: Total ban for your club for 12 month and disciplinary action (up to and including University involvement)
