2. Do Now Sit in your assigned seat.
Get out your copy of our short story, “Marriage is a Private Affair” and reread your notes and questions you wrote down at the end of the story.

3. Close Reading
Follow the steps detailed in the following slides in order to complete your Close Reading of “Marriage is a Private Affair”

4. Round 1
Reread the last two paragraphs silently to yourself. You may transfer any annotations you may have from yesterday’s reading.

5. Round 2
Turn to your partners and discuss the questions that you have. Make sure each person gets a turn to ask their questions. Feel free to add annotations or questions to your own paper.

6. Round 3
Reread the last paragraphs again, one section at a time! Trade off reading each section so that everyone has a chance to read.

8. Round 5 Reread the sections again one last time.
