1 Home Tab – Task List Now please remember that in order to utilize this functionality trade users will need “Full Access” to “Forms” and the mode of communication must be set to “portal” in order to view and respond to CBP forms through the importer “Account Type” view”. So make sure that your Trade Account Owner has granted you these roles. These setting will also allow trade users to be able to respond to a post summary request for additional documents. Keep in mind that accounts electing to receive copies of forms through the ace portal are not required to respond through the portal, but it is highly recommended that you do. Responses may still be submitted to CBP at the port of entry where the entry summary is filed. Also Brokers responding to CBP forms for their clients must do so through the importer’s portal account and not through their Broker’s ACE Portal Account. In the Forms tab, only 10 forms will display at a given time. Additional Page number will display at the bottom of the list where you can click to see additional forms. Forms that have been sent by CBP and require a response will have a status of “Sent.” When a response has been sent by the Trade, the Form is removed from the forms tab list and the only way to bring it back up is to do a search using the “search forms link” which we will look at shortly. Once CBP receives the response and opens it ,the status changes to “response received”. Once the response is processed and reviewed by CBP, the status will change and display Closed. We also see The Upload Document link on the forms tab. This link is used if CBP initiates an electronic post summary request to the filer for additional documentation. This is not a way to respond to CBP forms. This is used if a “Documents Required” message is received in ABI for post summary requests for additional documents and it will contain an action number.

2 Upload Documents Once the trade user clicks on the Upload Document link, this screen displays. You will enter the Action # that was provided in the “Documents Required” message received through ABI. Again Please do NOT use this feature to respond to CBP forms. This is only used for post entry documentation requests. We will cover attaching documents later in the next few slides when we discuss responding to CBP forms. The process will be the same for uploading Documents as in attaching documents while responding to CBP forms.

3 Search Forms Now If you want to view a specific form in your task list or a specific form that has already been responded to, it may be necessary to search for that form. If you are in another tab like Approvals and Notifications within the task list or if you click on the search forms link from the Forms tab, the search forms portlett will display. To do a search You must enter two criteria's to search for a form. Please note that the Date of Issue and the Date of Entry (To and From) counts as one criteria. Again, CBP Statuses are: Sent; Closed and Response Received. Sent means CBP has issued a CBPF 28, 29 or 4647 Response Received means CBP has received the trade’s response to the form. Closed means CBP has reviewed the trade’s response and has changed the status to “Closed”. Once the form is displayed, just click on the action # and it will open.
