1 AGENDA – 9/24 We will share about our weekends tomorrow 
Circle up the desks! 20 total. Grab your gratitude journals and write at least one thing down And, say why! Don’t just write “Mrs. Pool.” You can say “I’m thankful for Mrs. Pool, because she cares about me and I can trust her.” That way, when you’re looking back on this at the end of the year, you’ll remember all those fond memories! Socratic seminar day: Find a partner, stand across from them

Inner circle/outer circle Inner circle will go first Outer circle partner will record notes for inner circle partner And switch! 20 mins each

4 Directions How many times did the person you are evaluating make a meaningful comment? Ask an interesting/thought-provoking question, give some new input, make a connection How many times did the person you are evaluating cite the text? This means he/she/they refers to a specific point in the text and explains its relevance. Did the person do anything distracting that would hamper discussion? For example: laughing at someone’s comment, sleeping, making faces, talking out of turn, saying something rude about someone else’s comments.

5 Directions You are going to respond to my original question.
You are going to use what you read last week/this weekend as evidence to answer “The Stoics would say…” Or “from the TedTalk…” Or “Siddhartha might say…” If it gets quiet, and people stop saying things, you are welcome to pose a new question related to happiness. Group 2: you will receive a new question! You can build on ideas presented in the first group, but I don’t want you to restate their ideas.
