2 Tuesday February 14, 2017 Mark Twains The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was first published in the United States in February The novel follows Huck and Jim on there journey down the mississippi river. Both characters flea the fictional town of St. Petersburg for very different reasons. Huck leaves because he's guardian wants to sivilize him. Jim runs a way to escape the torments of slavery. Along the way Huck and Jim meet a host of colorful characters and come to forge a lasting friend ship.

5 Hamlet: Character Journal
As you read Hamlet, you will find that the events of the play affect the lives of all of the characters, not just Hamlet. To give you an opportunity to explore the reactions of the characters, you will pretend to be one of the characters listed on your assignment sheet. For this assignment, you will write the personal diary of a single character throughout Act 1. Your diary needs to: Summarize the major events of Act 1 Describe your character’s perspective, including thoughts and feelings toward other characters and the events of Act 1 At least three ½ page journal entries spaced throughout Act 1
