3 What are degree apprenticeships?
A job with significant training (at least 20% of the role is allocated to ‘off-the-job’ training). Combines full-time paid work and part-time university study to offer opportunity to gain a full Bachelors or Masters degree. Created partnership between learners, employers, universities and professional bodies. Learning fits around that work commitment and requires flexible learning modes such as day or block release, distance or blended learning. They can take between three to six years to complete, depending on the course level and what is stated in the national ‘standard’.

5 Leeds Trinity University
One of the UK's top universities for employability The learning experience We’ve delivered over 100 Degree Apprenticeships to date Innovation 95% of our students are in employment or education within 6 months of leaving. We have a track record of working with businesses. All our undergraduates go on work placements during the first two years of their studies, and these links have helped us to understand Work Based learning Class sizes are limited to 25, meaning more 1:1 time with tutors All our apprenticeships are with large employers – only 2% of employers are levy payers, but they recruit 49% of all apprentices We’ve developed a Work based learning framework to help us to design the apprenticeships around employer needs. This gives value to the learning that people do at work. Rather than trying to shoehorn an existing qualification into an apprenticeship programme, we make the programmes a lot more flexible, and agile. They incorporate a higher education qualification such as a Bachelor's Degree or Higher Education Certificate. Designed in collaboration with employers, Higher and Degree Apprenticeships are a cost-effective way to attract and retain talent, up-skill your workforce and increase productivity.  Apprentices develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours which are crucial to the demands of their job role, meaning that they are able to meet the demands of  business.
