Is an administrative arm of the State of Ohio 413 square miles 813,822 residents 4500 employees 30 separate departments 9 elected offices Operating budget around $240 million Serves: 21 incorporated cities 17 villages 13 townships

Economic Development Environmental Control General Government Health Judicial Public Safety Public Works Recreation Social Services What is the major role of a County in Ohio: A huge responsibility as an Administrative Arm of the State of Ohio. Economic Development-Business & Community Development Environmental Control –Solid waste disposal, air and water quality mgmt. General Govt. – Taxes, budgeting, inspections, levies, planning and zoning, permits Health- A&D, Mental Health, Disabilities, Judicial –All Courts, records, titles, Appeals, Public Safety –Legal Counsel, law enforcement, coroner, jail Public Works –Water and Sewer districts, county roads and bridges Recreation- Financing and operations of stadiums, Zoo and Museum Levies, parks commission Social Services – Jobs and Family Services, Senior Services, Veteran Services

4 Economic Inclusion Initiative BOLD: Building Opportunities by Leveraging Diversity
Establishing voluntary goals for SBEs, MBEs, and WBEs, and tracking Veterans and Disabled-Owned Businesses Establishing a BOLD Vendor Registration Listing Providing guidance & assistance to small, diverse and many other types of businesses. Establishing regular diversity and inclusiveness training for staff as well as on-going Economic Inclusion Improvement Projects. Operations: Areas of focus Recruitment Hiring Retention Advancement Training: Civil Treatment “Building an Inclusive Workforce”

Quarterly “How to Do Business with Hamilton County” Workshops Referrals for specialized training for small and diverse contractors on bonding, financing, planning, technology, sustainability, and partnerships Participate in Match-maker events for subcontractors and primes Promotion of small, diverse, and other companies that want to do business with Hamilton County Process improvement training for managers and staff

This system is available 24 hours per day, seven days per week from any computer that has internet access. Bids and Quotes are advertised here and on County website Instant access to information when you want it Greater access to the individuals who are buying, when they want to buy Bid History Notification of when a bid is posted that meets your commodities There is no charge for Hamilton County solicitations. Responders will receive notification of all postings made by Hamilton County for the commodity selections made.
