2. Computers are everywhere
We use computers every day.
Computers need to receive information to work.
Inputting is often pressing buttons.
Outputs are often a noise or something shown on a screen.

3. A Desktop Computer System
When we're using a computer:
1. Information goes in
2. It is processed
3. Information comes out
Information is also stored.
We've been using computer hardware like this, now we're going to look how information gets into and out of a computer via input and output devices.

an output device
a storage device
Can you name examples of each?

CD/DVD drive
CPU (under the fan)
Hard drive

6. Hardware and Software
Everything we've talked about so far is hardware.
It's hard. We can touch it - the physical parts of a computer.
Software can't be touched - it's the programs that we run on a computer. There are 2 types of software:
1. Systems software : is in charge of running the computer - like Windows, IOS, Android. It provides a user interface.
2. Application software : for doing tasks. It includes web browsers like Chrome or Edge, Office software like Excel or Word, games like Call of Duty or Tetris.
