5 Design Option 1 Option one is a monolith Style, black granite monument with a substantial base. Illustrated with Tony Gwynn’s portrait and text.

6 Design Option 2 Option 2 is a life like bust in bronze of Tony Gwynn, black Granite and bronze throughout the 4x4 base Describing four passions in Mr. Gwynn’s life on each side Family Community Sports Coaching youth

7 Design Option 3 Option 3 is a Relief statue in bronze depicting Mr. Gwynn in one of his iconic sports poses Extended elements of the statue protrude from the base

9 Base ¾ view Each 4 foot side of base will concentrate on one of the four mentioned themes.

10 Sculptors After reaching out to sculptors, three artist have shown interested in working on this project. They are providing photos and live samples of their work. One of the foundries Lynn Forbs uses, is Art Bronze Inc. located in San Fernando California. Budgets will be presented once a final design and all cost estimates have been reached.

Taught at Irvine Fine Arts Center in Irvine CA Experience in different sculpting mediums, portraits, reliefs and life sized statues Many of her pieces are displayed in populated San Diego areas like the Botanic Gardens and The Tri City Medical Center.

13 Barbara Postelnek 11 years of experience in sculpting
Taught in a bronze foundry in San Diego Experience in impressionism sculpting, portraits and arbor sculpting. She attended the National Academy of Design in New York City.

15 Materials and Construction
San Diego Granite has volunteered to make a donation of Black Granite stone. Doug Main of San Diego Granite has agreed to over-see and coordinate the construction of the monument.

16 Selected Site The finished monument can be located in this area.
The people of the Poway community and visitors will have another point-of- interest destination. This location will make for a timeless Memorial.

The area around the Tony Gwynn Memorial monument will be spacious and complimentary to reading the plaques and information describing Mr. Gwynn’s Family, Community contributions, achievements in sports and his relationship with the many lives he touched during his time on the planet.
