Creating new beginnings! What do we make? We make space to create new structures. Clearing away the past to help create a better future.

Historic Demolition Techniques
Second in command is another experienced HND qualified Civil Engineer with similar experience to myself. CSCS black card holder and Both Asbestos and Demolition Manager. Me: Once the MSc has been gained and because of my HNC I can progress onto full membership of the Institute of Civil Engineers and Chartered Engineer Level. These include Highways, Marine, Structural Steel, reinforced Concrete, Major Drainage and Earthworks. Industry experienced Demolition manager holding gold card status. Experienced site supervisors developed through our own training schemes holding Gold Card, SSSTS and Cat B Asbestos qualifications. Experienced Asbestos supervisors and operatives, fully trained and medically health checked annually. All Plant Operatives are CCDO trained and experienced in the use of demolition attachments. All operatives are cat B asbestos trained (much more rigorous than asbestos awareness , the industry minimum) and are trained in their specialist areas of competence. We Operate a training regime within the company to develop our staff in their experience, knowledge and confidence. We promote from within wherever possible and reward accordingly.

Pre Demolition Check List
Has a Pre Demolition Asbestos Survey been completed? Study it. Ensure planning permission has been obtained. Ensure services have been terminated outside the structure. Submit Section 81, Demolition Notice to Local Authority. Notify project to HSE via F10. If notifiable asbestos is in the structure, notify HSE, via ASB5. Notify neighbours of the projects dates, and contact details of Demolition Company. Set up welfare/Office. Organogram At the end: I will now go through a few case studies with you to give you an image of the work we do.

Degree level qualifications are currently commencing with Foundation Degree and MSc, formalizing higher level management qualifications. Institute of Demolition Engineers EST 1980.

The Demolition Engineer
Role: To safely plan the structural demolition sequence and anticipate how the structure will react during demolition. Much of the Demolition Engineers planning will involve temporary works.

Bridge Demolition Works
These projects require meticulous planning as they are usually undertaken around road or railway closures with very tight timescales involving round the clock working.

Bridge Demolition Works
PTS Demolition have successfully completed the demolition of over 30 bridges associated with roads, rivers and railways. These projects require meticulous planning as they are usually undertaken around road or railway closures with very tight timescales involving round the clock working (usually over weekends). Each project varies however the waste arising (concrete and scrap metal) can be 100% recycled, and, if required, can be reincorporated into the new works.

Methanol Plant Deconstruction (Former ICI Billingham)
This project consisted of the partial dismantling of the methanol reformers and associated process equipment for re-erection in Mongolia and the demolition of the discarded sections. Methanol Plant Deconstruction (former ICI Billingham) This project was undertaken as a joint venture with Sarens Construction, Part of the Sarens Crane Group. Consisted of the partial dismantling of the methanol reformers and associated process equipment for re-erection in Mongolia, and the demolition of the discarded sections. All of the plant was surveyed and matchmarked (both in Chinese and English). The cutting, separations and unbolting of equipment to be transported to Mongolia was carefully planned and executed, and the remaining demolition works undertaken carefully. In all there was 25,000T of metal on site along with refractory bricks and concrete. 12,000T of high value metal tubes and process equipment was carefully removed and loaded into containers for transportation to Teesport, where it was loaded onto ships and sent to Qingdao in China. Once in China it was loaded onto road transport and driven 2000 miles inland to Mongolia for re-erection. I have no information currently if the recommissioning is complete but suspect it is as we have not heard of any complaints!
