2 1. Go to the Jotello F Soga Library’s website
( 2. Click on “Veterinary Databases” or “Library in your office”

3 Scroll down and select “Science Direct”

You must be a registered Library user. If not please complete a Library registration form and to: or Fax to: Enter your student/ personnel number ( e.g ) If you have a PIN type it here. If not click on SUBMIT and choose a new PIN on the next page

5 Click on “Search” or “Advanced search”
Advanced Search provides pre-defined fields that you can use to search all available documents, journals, or books. The Advanced search form is designed to guide you through creating a search. Use Advanced Search: To search one of the pre-defined Advanced Search fields, including: Abstract, Title, Keywords Authors Specific Author Source Title Title Keywords Abstract References ISSN ISBN Affiliation Full Text All Fields Note  The available Advanced Search fields vary depending on the type of content you are searching. To search one or two fields in a single query. For Example  You can use the Advanced search form to search authors and keywords. To search a specific publication type. For Example  You can use the Advanced Journals search form to search only journals or only books.

6 Type your keywords in the supplied windows – remember the Boolean search operators
(Cat or cats or feline) (babesia or babesiosis) Click on “Search”

7 Retrieved results The number of results retrieved”
Mark the records you wish to use by ticking the checkboxes.”

Link to full text Articles marked with a green box are available full text Articles marked with a clear box are not available full text because we are not subscribed to it

9 Evaluating the results
Will this article be suitable? Click on Preview and read the Abstract

10 Click on the PDF icon – The size of the file is added
View / read record Click on the PDF icon – The size of the file is added

11 Your article !!

12 Save, Print To Save or Print your article make use of Adobe’s Save and Print options.

13 Mark the articles you want and click on E-mail articles

14 Complete the form and click on Send

15 Exporting citations to a reference managing software such as Refworks
Mark the articles you want and click on Export citations

16 Complete the form and click on Export
