2. Understanding social enterprise DURING THIS PROGRAMME YOU WILL:
Social enterprise is an ethical model of business that combines the best of entrepreneurship with clear and purposeful social aims.
This Understanding Social Enterprise (USE) workshop will give you a broad view of the concept and provide you with ideas for raising awareness of social enterprise in your school.
DURING THIS PROGRAMME YOU WILL:
Learn about the values and purpose of social enterprise and gain the skills and knowledge to help your school set up their own
Discover how participating in social enterprise allows young people to demonstrate the 4 capacities for Curriculum for Excellence
Be given an opportunity to meet and gain insight from a Social Entrepreneur
Take home materials to further your learning
WHO IS IT FOR?
This workshop is open to teachers who are keen to develop a hands-on understanding of social enterprise.
It will enable you to support students who wish to explore this exciting business model and give you ideas on how it can be applied in different contexts.
Following the workshop, you and your students will be invited to a Dragon’s Den event where you will have the opportunity to listen to various inspirational speakers, meet with local social entrepreneurs and pitch your social enterprise ideas for funding.
