How important is preparation for the DSA Assessment? Do young people know what support they might need? Is money a deciding factor in meeting student needs? S

Careers support and information How can all young people with SI in the area access careers tailored information and advice? Do SI young people have access to accessible work experience opportunities? How can families also receive tailored advice and info?

12 Questions for consideration:
Post-14 education & training Do young people with SI have access to specialist provision across a range of providers? Do young people with SI have access to specialist assessments of needs when moving into new settings after leaving school? Do all post-14 education and training providers have access to advice and guidance on meeting the needs of young people with SI? What agreements are in place for co-working and collaboration with post-14 providers?

Employment: On leaving education, where are young people signposted to for support on finding employment? Are employers offering work placements or apprenticeships aware of good practice on supporting SI employees? Is there specialist support available to support SI people into employment through local DWP services? What local volunteering opportunities are available to SI young people?

14 Questions for consideration:
Other: What processes are in place to identify young people who may require life skills training including independent travel? What support is available to SI young people to develop and maintain friends into adulthood?
