4 House of Cards Objective: Demonstrate and illustrate balanced and unbalanced forces. You have 15 minutes to create a 2-story house of cards. You may use as many cards as you need. You may not use tape or glue or anything else to aide you. On pg. ____, draw a sketch of your structures and label any forces using arrows to show direction of the forces. Your sketches can be as simple as drawing stick figures.

Objective: Demonstrate and illustrate balanced and unbalanced forces. What are specific ways you structured the cards? How did you go about making the 2nd story on your house of cards? Are the cards experiencing pulling or pushing forces? What can you say about the net force on the cards? Balanced or Unbalanced? What are some unbalanced forces that can break the house of cards? What are ways that you could make the house of cards stronger?

11 Speed, Velocity, Acceleration Lab
Problem: What factors and forces affect the speed and acceleration of a moving object? Procedures: Make an inclined plane by placing one end of the ruler on the starting point and the other on 3 stacked books. Place golf ball at the top of the incline and let it accelerate down the ruler. Begin timing when the golf ball crosses the starting point. (bottom of ramp) Stop the timer when it crosses the 100 cm mark and record the time in the data table. Repeat these steps for a total of 3 trials. Repeat these steps for 200 cm, 300 cm, and 400 cm distances. Calculate the speeds at each distance and graph the time and distance on the graph.

Ashley is playing softball and just hit the ball. The ball travels 50 meters in 3 seconds in the air. The ball then hits the ground and rolls 10 meters in 10 seconds. It then comes to a stop for 2 seconds before someone picks it up.
