2 Home Page Toggle Menu Dashboard Applications Search Recently Opened
Click to open the Banner Menu. Find the page you are interested in opening. Select the desired entry and click Enter. Toggle Menu Click to return to the landing page. Dashboard Click to display the Banner, My Banner, and Banner Self-Service menus, in addition to menus for any other integrated applications such as Banner 9 Registration. Applications Page Search Key text in this box to initiate a search to find pages or forms using key words or the seven letter object identifier for the form or page. This search is performed on the menu data, therefore if the form or page is not included on the menu, it is not included in the search results. Search Recently Opened Click to list forms and pages that you have recently opened. When a new page is opened, the number attached to the folder increases by one. 3 Access a Page The page opens. Click on the page that you wish to open.
As you type, the system will suggest pages with this text. Start typing the name of the form or a keyword (e.g. “Employee”).

4 Access Page Details This opens the page details.
Complete the Key Block. Click Go.

5 Page Structure Page Header Key Block Section
Page Header - Page close icon, Page title, Release and Submit buttons(workflow), Add and Retrieve icons (Banner Document Management), Related Menu, Tools Menu, Notification Center. Key Block - first block on most pages. Contains key information and determines what data is entered or displayed on the rest of the page. Section - Pages are divided into sections that contain additional details for the key information.

9 Basic Filter This returns the filtered record. Click Filter Again to reopen the filter and update. Enter or select filter criteria and then click Go to apply the filter. Click Clear All to reset the filter. This opens the Basic Filter for the section. Click the Filter button associated with the section to be filtered.

10 Advanced Filter Enter or select filter criteria and then click Go to apply the filter. The resulting filtered records are available. Click Filter Again to reopen the advanced filter and update. ` This opens the Advanced Filter for the section. Click the Advanced Filter option. This opens the Basic Filter for the section. Click the Filter button associated with the section to be filtered.

11 Sorting Click the Header “Name” to apply sorting by Name.
Click on the Name header again and it changes the sorting to Descending order. This brings up a filtered list of users with Names that start with “W”. This opens the Non-Person Search (SOACOMP) page. Enter criteria for searching the name (e.g. type “W%” in the Names field to look for names that start with “W”) and then click Go. In Banner 9, any list can be sorted by clicking on a field in the list. This opens the Option List. From this list, click Non-Person Search (SOACOMP). This sorts the list by Name (Ascending order). For example, on PPAIDEN click the search button (…).
