2 Ministry Challenges in Africa
Challenge: Rapid growth rate with two out of every five Adventists in the world living in Africa. Reaping campaigns bring in tens of thousands of new members every year, coupled with alarming dropout rates from evangelistic campaigns

3 Program Response: Discipleship and Biblical Spirituality cohort
Objective: To train a cohort of ministers from the three divisions on effective strategies for nurture, spiritual revival, and member care

4 Challenges & response Challenge: Africa has the most rapid rural-to-urban migration in the world with about 65-75% living in its burgeoning cities, and megacities Urban migration leaves people in need of social support and new networks, and provides opportunity for accepting the gospel

5 Program Response: Urban Missions concentration
Objective: To train a cohort of pastors from the three divisions on strategies for conducting effective contextual ministries in exploding urban contexts

6 challenges . . . Challenge: More than 60% of the Adventist membership in the continent are youth or young adults, living in a generation that is so divergent from previous generations. Globalization, the cyber age, & technology have generated many challenges for the church regarding faith transmission to our youth

7 Program Response: Youth & Young Adult concentration
Objective: To train a cohort of youth leaders & ministers on specialized strategies for ministry to youth and young professionals so they can own and innovatively lead the programs of the church

8 rationale . . . Challenge: Perhaps the greatest plague of a continent rich in mineral, material, and human resources is the question of leadership. With visionary planning and strategic leadership the church can respond to the challenges of leadership in this millennium. Despite its large membership and great potential, fields in the territory still lack adequate funding for needed programs and projects

9 Program Response: Organizational Leadership and Administration concentration
Objective: To train a cohort of leaders from across the three divisions in the continent on how to integrate strategic planning and visionary leadership methods with spiritual principles in guiding the church into the future

Church administrators and selected leaders invited t [resent on relevant subject s that have significance to ministry with the African context Where possible live interactions will be had, otherwise, video conferences will be explored

13 features . . . Excellence in Dissertation Awards:
A cash award shall be given to encourage excellence in dissertation writing during the graduation ceremony at the conclusion of the program

14 features . . . Study Tours: Opportunities shall be explored to expose students to the practical dimensions of the programs. Study tours shall be incorporated into the curriculum of the program in order to enhance the learning experience of the participants
