2 History “Lyme Disease was first discovered in 1981 when a scientist who was studying Rocky Mountain Spotted fever began studying what is now called Lyme Disease. This scientist is Willy Burgdorfer who found a connection between deer ticks and this disease. He discovered that a bacterium called a spirochete, carried by ticks, was called Lyme.” Lyme Disease is basically when a tick’s head goes into your skin.

3 The age group that Lyme disease affects
For male, the age that is most affected by Lyme Disease is between 5-10 years old. Furthermore, for females, the most common group is 5 years of age and years of age. On average 30,000 people are affect every year.

5 How Lyme disease affects the body
Lyme Disease can affect the body by spreading to other parts of your body after infection. It can last several months and even years. It can cause arthritis and nervous problems. Ticks can cause other illnesses like babesiosis and Colorado tick fever. It can affect any organ or system including the brain, nervous system, muscles, joints, and the heart. Lyme disease affects the heart by reach your heart tissue, it can cause Lyme carditis, which affects your heart’s electrical system.

6 What causes Lyme disease
Lyme disease is caused by bacteria in animals like deer, mice, and other animals that have ticks.

7 Cures A cure for Lyme Disease is to use antibiotics for weeks. When taking the median you will most likely have good results.

8 How to prevent Lyme disease
There is no real way to prevent Lyme disease. You can prevent by not going into the woods a lot, or if you do go into the wood make sure you wear bright clothes.

9 How Lyme disease affect’s your life daily
Lyme Disease doesn't affect really affect your daily life. Lyme Disease rarely causes serious problem.
