14 Other Projects LNG terminal
With a capacity of 160,000 M3 to be located in San Pedro de Macoris. The terminal is expected to supply with LNG a total of 1180 MW, generated by: Compañía de Electricidad de SPM of 300 MW. La sultana 150MW, Quisqueya 1,2 and 3, 730 MW

15 LNG TERMINAL PROMOTERS
GNL of the East Complex. Interenergy a leading investor in power generation in DR. Vicini the oldest and largest conglomerate in DR  Santana and Marti combined the largest private importers and distributors of fuels in DR. Promigas a large LNG distributors in Colombia.  BW a Singapore based LNG and LPG transport company.

16 Quisqueya 1,2 and 3 CESPM and La sultana TERMINAL OF NATURAL GAS

17 Fuels in Dominican Republic
LPG LPG largest imported fuel There are 3 terminals Two importers, Refidomsa and Coastal Has 71 distributors and 700 propane gas stations. LPG is been considered as a conversion alternative to transition from fuel oil to LNG.

18 Fuels in Dominican Republic cont.
LNG Fuel with the fastest growing trend Existing LNG terminal of 160,000 M3 New terminal of 160,000 M3 promoted 665 MW are presently fueled by LNG Additional 1180 MW estimated by 2015 6,000 vehicles operate with CNG and 20,000 by 2016 52 industries use LNG 18 LNG stations nationwide

22 Energy Sector Opportunities In Dom Rep
LNG CONVERSION: The new terminal will generate needs for financing, equipment, molecules, transportation, pipe lines, etc. RENEWABLE ENERGY: Incentives have been given to investments in renewable energy such as wind, solar, hydro and biomass. OIL AND GAS EXPLORATION: A new ministry of Energy and mines has been created in Dom Rep with the purpose prioritize the sector. Oil and gas exploration will be developed.

23 CONCLUSIONS Given the fact that:
Trinidad is the major hydrocarbon supplier of Dominican Republic. DR has started to give priority to the energy sector New energy projects are been developed. It’s proposed that both Trinidad and Dominican Republica start a process of identifying synergies to complement each other in the energy sector.
