5. 1st Rules!
Never!!! Eat anything in the lab unless directed to by the teacher.
Do not try lab experiments at home unless told to by the teacher.

6. Warm up and Participation Points
You will get points each day for
warm up: completed and turned in
participation and behavior
You will lose points for
Not putting bags and purses where they go
Talking
Arguing or refusal to follow directions
Not being in your own seat
Any other behavior problems

8. Why so many rules
I want to have everyone on the same page so that you know my expectation
We need to waste less class time with silly behavior problems.

Absent work in your folders and hanging up

Get your folder when you return and collect work from it.
Fill in the date the new work is due in the due date column.
At the end of class bring the folder to me to approve the date and ask questions
Turn in all missing work from the day you were absent.
Make sure you return the folder to me!!

10. Personal Grooming Do this outside of class Why?? No lotion No sprays
No make-up
No hair brushes
Why??
This is a distraction to me, you, and other classmates
The smells are overwhelming!!

11. Arguing
Do what I ask you to do – discuss it after class if you think that I am wrong.
DON’T LIE!!!!
Why?
Arguing takes class time
I am willing to discuss any rules or consequences but not during class time when it affects other students as well.

12. During Class No reading of other books
No doing other work (for this class or others)
No putting you head down
Why?
You can only learn by participating and being engaged.
It is a lot easier to ask questions in class when we cover the material.
You will be able to follow directions!

13. End of class No lining up at the doors
No leaving class before the bell
You can move seats and hang out with friends when we are done for the day.
You can listen to music when we are done for the day. Ask if you want to make sure that it is okay!
No phones!

14. RESPECT Most Important
I have a lot of respect for all of you and truly want you to do well in this class.
My #1 rule and one that can really summarize all the other we have discussed is RESPECT!
If we respect each other there should not be any problems!
