6 Egyptian Religion Egyptians believed deities (gods) were responsible for every action in life There were many types of gods. Pharaohs were considered gods and built temples to honor themselves and other gods Egyptians believed in the afterlife and when possible were buried with the comforts of life to use after death.

7 Mummification At the beginning of civilization, only pharaohs were mummified. Later, anyone could be mummified Process: Removed the internal organs and preserved them Filled the body with linen and salts and leave to dry out Later placed new linen in the body Wrapped in strips of linen before being buried
