4 Jacket Defensive Philosophy
Stop the run (Load the box) Movements for undersized kids Div. 1 (29 – 1, when opponent under 100 yards) Simple = Success (Dungy) Must Be Fixable (Stand the test of time) Win Turnover Battle NFL Study: 82% Win Must Be Able to Play Some Form of Man Have Two Answers For Each Set Must Be Able To Pressure (Fire Zone/Silver) One Rep Every 25 Seconds 2 scout groups for Skel/Inside Don’t Give Up the Big Play Take Away opponent’s “Bread and Butter”

5 Why Palms Coverage Gives a 9 man box vs. 21 personnel.
Can be played vs. any formation. Little adjustments vs. motions/trades Handles vertical entry by four receivers. Gives QB different look based on route. Great check vs. empty sets. Rules do not change based on an offense. Always are gap sound regardless of set. By reading #2 OLBs can be box players.

6 Concept: 2 Read Checks: 1. 21: Robber 2.Trips: Trio or Mini
Palms Coverage Concept: 2 Read Checks: : Robber 2.Trips: Trio or Mini

25 Robber Set front to the Field (3 Tech.)
Robber is a Field Coverage (FSL play Cover 3) Set front to the Field (3 Tech.)

26 Why Robber Coverage Takes pressure off the field corner. Good vs. bubble screens because of leverage. Good first and ten call. Can be played vs any set. Forces #2 receiver to block immediately. Backside of Robber can change weekly. Always the front of the coverage.
