2 Before starting this presentation I would like express my special thanks of gratitude to our english teacher “sister Josephine” who assigned us such a wonderful presentation on the topic of “medicinal plants". while preparing this presentation I knew about various medicinal plants and their uses,which may be very useful to me.

3 Medicinal Herbs  A medicinal herbs is a plants that has similar properties as conventional pharmaceutical drugs. Humans have used them throughout history to either cure or lessen symptoms from an illness. Here are some of the medicinal plants that we can use in our daily life---

4 Alovera  Scientific Name: Aloe Barbadensis, Aloe Indica, Aloe Barbados  Aloe Vera is a succulent plant of the genus Aloe. It originates from the Arabian peninsula but grows wild in tropical climates around the world and is cultivated for agricultural and medicinal uses. The species is also used for decorative purposes and grows successfully indoors as a potted plant.  Aloe Vera is a succulent plant of the genus Aloe. Minerals such as calcium, copper, selenium, magnesium, potassium, sodium and zinc are present in aloe Vera.

5 Bhrigraj  Scientific name: Elipta alba Bhrigraj is used for hair fall treatment, liver disorders skin diseases. The whole plan is used for various medical purposes.  Bhrigraj is a plant which often grows in moist places. Although it grows in almost the whole world, but it is found in abundance in India, China, Thailand and Brazil. In Ayurveda, its 237oil is considered very useful for hair. Bhrigraj is used for hair fall treatment, liver disorders skin diseases. The whole plan is used for various medical purposes.

6 Marigold  Scientific name : Tagetes  Marigold is a common name for several plants in the Asteraceae family cultivated as ornamentals for their large, generally orange blossoms. It is a species native to Europe, but cultivated worldwide. it has various medicinal uses-  Reduce rash and protect sensitive skin.  Decrease the appearance of discoloration due to scarring.  Treat burns and infected cuts.  Eases cramps and muscular pains.

7 Turmeric  Scientific name: Curcuma longa  Turmeric is a perennial flowering plant of the ginger family. It is native to the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia, and requires temperatures between 20 and 30 °C (68 and 86 °F) and a considerable amount of annual rainfall to thrive.  Uses of turmeric-- Protect against heart disease in various ways Protect against heart disease in various ways Possibly help with depression Possibly help with depression Protect the liver from oxidative stress and disease Protect the liver from oxidative stress and disease Help fight diabetes and cancer Help fight diabetes and cancer

8 Tulsi  Scientific name: Ocimum tenuiflorum  Tulsi commonly known as holy basil, tulasi or tulsi, is an aromatic perennial plant. It is native to the Indian subcontinent and widespread as a cultivated plant throughout the Southeast Asian tropics.  Uses of tulsi – Prevents Heart Diseases. Prevents Heart Diseases. 10 Pudina  Scientific name: Mentha arvensis  Pudina the corn mint, field mint, or wild mint, is a species of flowering plant in the mint family Lamiaceae. It has a distribution, being native to the temperate regions of Europe and western and central Asia, east to the Himalaya and eastern Siberia, and North America.  Used of Pudina-- Relieves indigestion Relieves indigestion Fights aches and pains Fights aches and pains Gives you glowing and acne free skin Gives you glowing and acne free skin Helps relieve cough and cold Helps relieve cough and cold Prevents allergies and asthma Prevents allergies and asthma

11 Conclusion  After observing this presentation, we can now say that nature has provided us a large number of things which we can use and be mentally, physically, and emotionally fit. If we use natural products wisely we will never be in need of english medicines. We also must make the best use of such natural products to be healthy. So BE NATURAL,BE HEALTHY BE NATURAL,BE HEALTHY
