3 Fish can be different sizes, shapes, and colors.

4 Where do fish live? Fish live and breathe only underwater!
Fish live in ponds. Fish live in the ocean. Fish live in rivers. Fish live in streams. Fish live in aquariums. Fish live in lakes. Fish live and breathe only underwater!

5 What do fish eat? Some fish are top feeders and some
Elodea Some fish eat plants found in the water. Some fish eat other fish. Some fish eat plankton. Plankton Some fish are top feeders and some fish are bottom feeders. Some fish can be both top and bottom feeders.

7 Fish Facts Fish have backbones. They are vertebrates.
Fish have two nostrils to smell their environment. Fish have a mouth with several rows of teeth to grasp their prey. Fish have fins to help them swim. Fish have scales to help provide protection.

8 Fish Facts Fish have two eyes, but they do not have eyelids. They cannot blink their eyes. Some fish have pretend eyes! Do you know why?

9 Fish Facts Fish breathe through gills. They do not have lungs.
People have lungs. We cannot breathe underwater!

Both need water and food. Both have fins, eyes, mouth, scales, and a tail. Both breathe through gills.
