1 The Answer Pad Tips: What to do: Benefits: Snap & Share
If you want to create another question choose the style from the drop-down menu and ‘send out’ again Remind students that if it isn’t good enough it will be unlocked and they will have to start from scratch again Have the free ‘Answer Pad’ app installed on a set of tablets or access for ‘students’ via the website ( Log into The Answer Pad as a ‘Teacher’ (you can create an account or use your google account). Choose ‘interactive’ then ‘quick connect’ – this will generate a connect code and operating page Display your question/activity and the connect code on the interactive board (I use a Power Point slide for this) and freeze it so you can continue to access the website Instruct students to enter the ‘Connect Code’ and a name Select the type of question from the ‘Choose Question’ tab then ‘Send Out’ the question and students can ‘Submit’ their responses when ready These appear on your screen and you can give feedback as they appear (either verbal or using traffic lights) and even ‘unlock’ the response for it to be attempted again You can then unfreeze the screen and share the responses with the class (names can be hidden to make it anonymous) using the zoom function to make responses easier to read Benefits: Students still get excited about using an iPad and don’t see it as work Better than post-it notes as they don’t fall off the board, students don’t need to leave their seats and responses can be seen by the rest of the class from their seats Students enjoy the quick feedback you can give Great for assessing prior knowledge and/or learning
