3 Jobs that Interest Me Special Educational Teacher – one who specializes in working with children who needs special support in order to reach their full education potential. Veterinarian Physician – a professional who practices veterinary medicine by treating disease, disorder, and injury in animals. Social Worker - specialize in social care who work with people to support them through difficult times.

Special Educational Teacher
The typical work activities and responsibilities: Prepare lessons and resources Provide instructional support to the students Instruct students in academic subjects using a variety of techniques Enforce rules for behavior Provide a safe environment & provide conductive learning for all students Develop plans for effective communication skills Values: The students A compassion for teaching Working environment: Public school, private school, charter school, childcare center

Working with data-people-things:
Work with students and tools to teach them. Teachers have to keep up with special records to keep track of the student's growth. Working hours: Typically 5 days out of the week, during school hours (7am-3pm) Aptitudes and abilities: Communication skills, courage, public speaking, leadership Education and training: It’s required to have at least a bachelor’s degree and a state issued license. A 2 week long program is mandatory where you learn about the different types of disabilities and how to present information where the children understand. Salary and benefits: The annual wage for special educational teachers is $55,060

I volunteered at a recreational center this past summer and was with the special education students majority of the time. Each and every child was unique in their own way and I enjoyed every second there. This is why I want to become a special educational teacher one day.

“Social Worker” Typical work activities & responsibilities:
Responsible for helping individuals, groups, and families with their problems. Values: Their patients! Social Perceptiveness Critical Thinking Working Environment: A location where the patients feel very, very comfortable, safe, and wanted (school, hospital, office, home) Working with data-people-things: Work with humans and help solve their problems.

Working hours: Typically from 9AM – 5PM Aptitude and Abilities Active listening, speaking, decision making, and judgment, strong people skills, and time management Education and training A bachelors degree in the social work field is required, you can strive for a masters to be very advanced, then become liscensed. Salary and Benefits Social work is very respected, The annual salary for a social worker is $60, 479. Career outlook: This field is expected to grow 25% every year and almost every year it reaches that point

Lifestyle Goal When I become a social worker I want a realistic lifestyle. I want a beautiful home, that I’ll never want to leave and a beautiful truck of my choice. I want to be able to go out and get whatever I want, without having to worry about my bills.

“Vet” The typical work activities & responsibilities:
Clean animals teeth Health Check Ups Fixing bones of animals Treating infections of animals Perform needed surgeries on animals Small and Large animal practices Education and training: A Baccalaureate in Veterinary medicine and also, a program of 8 months is required. Career outlook: Employment growth of 12% yearly International Outlook: Employment growth of at least 27% yearly

Working with people-thing-people:
Veterinarian work with small, large, animals. Vets have many different tools that they use to treat the animals like x-rays, brushes, braces, swings, etc. Working environment: Environments may vary. Some settings may be in a clinic, which may be comfortable but noisy due to different animals being in the same place while some may work on farms for the health of cows, horses, etc. Working Hours: Veterinarians work flexible hours or whenever theyre availobile. Typically a 9AM-5Pm. Values: Direct animal care Caring Well respected
