House of Representatives and House of Councillors Supreme Court determines the constitutionality of a law

There are some similarities between Japan’s, Britain's and America’s government In Britain there is: Parliament Much like the Diet Prime Minister A figure head (i.e. the Queen and Emperor) In America there is: a cabinet much like the president has Multiple branches

National Flag The flag has a simple design that includes a white background and a red circle. The flag itself is called Hinomaru which translates to “sun circle” and is believed to have been first used in the 12th century. The red circle is representative of the sun and is presented horizontally as if it is a rising sun.

In conclusion Most of Japan’s modern day government was formed post world war II and have similarities with the American and British government formation. Although they still have an emperor, they don't hold the same amount of influence they used to as a god but rather as a figure-head.
