500,000 + Stakeholders Arkansas, Oklahoma Cherokee Nation 20+ cities, 7 Counties 1.1 million acres 1,700 square miles The headwaters of the Illinois River originate near Hogeye, Arkansas near Fayetteville, and the river flows westerly through the Ozarks into Oklahoma and eventually into Lake Tenkiller Ferry. The main tributary streams in the Illinois River watershed include Osage Creek, Flint Creek, Clear Creek,and the Baron Fork. Historically, the watershed was characterized by forest and pasture land use with little development; however, over the past two decades nearly one quarter of the watershed area has changed its land use where significant increases in residential, commercial and industrial development have been observed. The Illinois River watershed (HUC# ) is a 319 priority watershed of the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission (ANRC).

3 Project Deliverables:
• Train 150 people in green infrastructure design and installation • Implement 15 demonstration projects in public/quasi-public locations in the Illinois River Watershed • Help foster a “Green Infrastructure Culture” in Arkansas.  Features thirteen species of native plants Green Infrastructure in the IRW Grant
