The e-global library lets you search topics within a database of credible resources that includes scholarly journals, trade publications, magazines, newspapers, and books. While it is convenient to use Google and other search engines, anyone can post on the Internet, and you want to make sure you’re using credible sources for your academic papers. Newspapers Scholarly journals Magazines Books Trade publications

Two ways to access the library: egloballibrary.com/pmi Blackboard Username: your campus Password: pima There are two ways to access the online library: Go to egloballibrary.com/pmi and log in. Your username is your campus. For example, if you are enrolled in the Tucson campus, enter tucson. And the password is pima in lowercase letters. The other way is to sign into Blackboard and go into any of your courses. Then click Library from the menu on the left. Go to any course and click on Library.

4 You can enter your topic in this text field to run a search for full text articles. Let’s look up “obesity health risks.” A new window opens up and your search results appear in the bottom half of the screen. Use the tabs to select which type of publications you want to view—scholarly journals, magazines, trade publications, and so forth. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, try refining your search by changing the keywords. You can also select one of the suggested topics if you are having a hard time thinking of other keywords to use. Let’s select this article. You can print it, it, or you can select Mark Document. To view all your marked documents, click the My Research tab. Once you have chosen an article to use as a reference in your assignment, you can also click Cite This, and a window will pop up citing the source in APA style. Always double-check the citation for accuracy because corrections may need to be made or missing information may need to be added. Let’s go back to the Blackboard window. Depending on your program, you can narrow your search by clicking on a specific journal and focusing your search in that journal alone. When you click Online Tutorials, a new window pops up with how-to guides geared toward specific resources and processes that will help you better use the information found in the library. If you need help getting started, you can click Ask an Online Librarian. First, choose your school. If you scroll down, it’s Pima Medical Institute. Then fill out the request form and click Connect. It may take a while to connect with the online librarian so it’s a good idea to write down any questions that you might have. You also want to make sure that when you do contact the online librarian, you’ve given yourself enough time to do the assignment. And this is what the chat window will look like when you are chatting with the online librarian. You will then be able to chat with the online librarian who can help you run a search for what you need.

5 Do you know how to use the eGlobal Library?
