4. What is energy? The ability to do work or produce change
Can neither be created nor destroyed: converts from one form to another
Ex. Solar energy from the sun to chemical energy in a cell

6. What is matter? Occupies space, has mass (is made of atoms)
Ex. Solids, liquids or gases

7. Earth is made primarily of water

8. What is a population?
A group of living organisms from the same species living together in the same geographic area at the same time.

9. What is a system?
Has organized parts that interact to maintain a balance
Those parts are various forms of matter and energy
There are inputs (things that go in) and outputs (things that leave)

10. Earth is considered a system
There are 4 main sub systems that interact to maintain balance on Earth:
Atmosphere
Geosphere
Hydrosphere
Biosphere
