Mr Smith Miss Whapham Ms Warren Mrs Purches (Claire)
Teaches Tavy class in the morning and then the class not at the college in the afternoon. Miss Whapham Teaches Torridge in the mornings and Year 5 in the afternoons. Ms Warren HLTA and Year 6 Administrator who primarily works in Tavy class. Teaches Art and RE to students on Thursday and Friday afternoons. Mrs Purches (Claire) TA who primarily works in Torridge class. Teaches IT to students on a Monday morning.

P.E. Black Shorts or jogging bottoms and white T-Shirt.
Well fitting footwear (Trainers) No hoodies or jumpers from home. Children can wear academy jumper if required. Named P.E. kit in school every day. PE sessions are taught Friday and Monday.

Homework Children will have a minimum of two pieces of homework a week. Every week, children will be set Mathletics (login located in home- school diary) and Reading Comprehension. This is set on a Wednesday and is due in the following Tuesday. There may be a third piece of homework set as the year progresses. Homework is an important part of the transition to Year 6 and then onwards to college and so we do ask that this is completed every week. If students are struggling with their work we are happy to help them at school if they come to us in good time (not Tuesday morning!)

Accelerated Reader All children will have a book from the library
Books are numbered according to a child’s level Children will bring these books home, they will need to be reading as frequently as possible Children will take quizzes on the books to achieve higher levels

Home School Diaries Orange book.
Add date, book title and comments about the book/reading. Any messages from you and the school. The diary needs to be in school every day. We will check daily.

Class Webpage Letters that are sent home will be uploaded Any other important messages or dates. To find this go to the Chulmleigh webpage- Year 6- ‘News and Events’- News from the Classroom

Medical Needs Asthma Inhalers, with a spacer if required, need to be in school, named, and to be kept with the child at all times. Allergies Food, plasters, nuts etc. Please let me know a.s.a.p. Other If your child’s health changes, please keep us updated.

Y6 Residential This year’s residential will be held at Beam House, a PGL centre near Torrington. We will depart on Monday 18th March- Wednesday 20th March A letter will be sent out shortly to let you know more and a meeting will take place where you can ask any questions.
