2. Background
In 2013, HB 5 included a Community Engagement Component with the goal to allow districts to showcase areas of excellence and success as well as recognize areas in need of improvement and set future goals that are valued in the community.
The law requires each district to evaluate and designate a performance rating for the district and each campus based on locally developed criteria.
The ratings are exemplary, recognized, acceptable, or unacceptable

Educational programs for GT students
Compliance with statutory reporting and policy requirements.

4. Few changes we’ve made because of this survey
Fine Arts- Music at Howard added for school year
Tracking the number of parents at all BTS nights
Tracking the number of elementary parent conferences
Added language proficiency assessment to measure outcomes of SI and DL
Tracking attendance at summer school
Updating surveys for parents, faculty, and students for 17-18
Increased # of GT and ESL certified teachers
