2 Annual Performance Report Texas Education Code requires Board to… –Annually publish a report that includes the AEIS report, goals/objectives, violence citations/complaints, and THECB report. –Hold a hearing for public discussion of the report. –Widely disseminate the report within the district.

4 Changes to AEIS this Year In order to allow “apples to apples” comparison of 2011 data to 2010 data, and to accurately calculate Required Improvement, TAKS scores from 2010 were recomputed to include performance on TAKS- Modified (TAKS-M) and TAKS-Alternate (TAKS-Alt) for all grades and subjects. For the 2010-11 AEIS reports, the new federal definitions for the collection of ethnicity and race are used. Students and staff are now reported as African American, Hispanic, White, American Indian, Asian, Pacific Islander, and Two or More Races.

30 Student Success Initiative Grades 5 and 8 TAKS Cumulative Met Standard: Cumulative percent of students who took and passed the grade 5 TAKS reading and mathematics tests, and grade 8 reading and math tests across the March and April test administrations.. State Average ACISD Percentage

31 Attendance Rate Grades 1-12 This indicator shows the attendance rate for grades 1-12 for the 2006-2007, 2007-2008, 2008-2009, and 2009-2010 school years. State Average ACISD Percentage

33 4-Year Completion Rate Grades 9-12: Class of 2009 and Class of 2010 This indicator displays the status of the students expected to graduate with the class of -2009 who first attended ninth grade in the 2005-2006 school year -2010 who first attended ninth grade in the 2006-2007 school year

34 5-Year Extended Completion Rate Grades 9-12: Class of 2008 and Class of 2009 This indicator displays the status of the students expected to graduate with the class of -2008 who first attended ninth grade in the 2004-2005 school year -2009 who first attended ninth grade in the 2005-2006 school year

35 Completion Rate I - without GED Grades 9-12 – Standard Accountability Indicator This indicator sums the percent of students in the cohort who graduated within four year or continued high school in the fifth year. State Average ACISD Percentage

36 Advanced Courses/Dual Enrollment Completion Grades 9-12 This indicator is based on a count of students who complete and receive credit for at least one advanced course in grades 9-12. Advanced courses include dual enrollment courses. State Average ACISD Percentage

37 RHSP/DAP Graduates Classes of 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 This indicator shows the percentage of graduates who were reported as having satisfied the course requirements for the Texas State Board of Education Recommended High school Program or Distinguished Achievement Program. 38 AP/IB Results Grades 11-12 This indicator addresses students who participated in the College Board Advanced Placement (AP) examinations. State Average ACISD Percentage

41 Other items of interest… 65.2% of our students are economically disadvantaged, compared to the state with 59.2%. We have a higher retention rate than the state at grades 1 and 2. We are above state average in class size average in every area except Secondary ELA, where our average is 17.2 compared to the state at 17.3. We are above state average on teachers with graduate degrees. 13% of our teachers are ethnic minorities. Over 50% of our teachers have more than 10 years experience. Our total tax rate is $1.092 compared to the state average of $1.235.

42 Teacher Turnover Rate AEIS turnover rate is the percent of teachers from fall 2009 who were not employed as teachers by the district in fall 2010 Our turnover rate dropped from 13.5% to 12.8%, or 31 teachers out of 245.9 total. –5 retired –1 left due to ill health –1 had a baby and stayed home –9 moved to a district closer to parents citing a need for family support or to take care of aging parents –4 moved out of the area because his/her spouse was transferred –6 resigned in lieu of termination –1 went to another school district “for a better job” –2 moved into administrative positions –1 went into private business –1 returned to college for a higher degree

45 THECB Report The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board reports the number of Rockport Fulton High School students from the graduating class of 2010 who enrolled in a Texas post-secondary institution during the first year after graduation. We’ve compiled enrollment data from the previous 4 classes for comparison. Records kept by the high school registrar indicate that another 7 students, or 4% of the class of 2010, enlisted in the military, and 8 students, or 3.5%, enrolled in out-of-state post-secondary institutions. Also includes a report comparing first year college GPA information for the classes of 2007, 2008, and 2009.
