14 While reporting statements, the most commonly-used reporting words are SAY and TELL. What is the difference between them? We do not use TO after TELL but we use TO after SAY. He said to me that he …….. He told me that he … SAY to somebody something TELL somebody something

15 We must say who we are talking to after TELL, however we don’t have to do it after SAY. He has told me, I will tell him, we told them … etc. (The boss told that they …) He has said that he is hungry. She is saying that she is not happy.
