8 Birthdays Treats will not be shared for classroom birthday celebrations. Suggestions for your child's birthday treat: donate a book to the school's Birthday Club fun pencils stickers recess equipment a board game for the class to share (Candy Land, Connect Four), or card games for the class to share (Go Fish, Old Maid) Party Invitations: Students may bring invitations to school for distribution if ALL students in the classroom are invited.

9 LUNCH Our class will eat lunch M-F from 10:45-11:15. Our ice cream day will be every Thursday. If you would like to join your child for lunch, please me ahead of time. If you would like to purchase a school lunch, please let me know your choice. This will help the cafeteria staff when preparing the correct amount of food. Restaurant food is not permitted. Also, please be sure to check in at the office before entering the cafeteria. The Food Service Department of Loudoun County Public Schools has made it possible to pay your child’s lunch via the Internet. You can access the web page at Please remember when sending in lunch money to put it in an envelope with your child’s first and last name on it.

11 This week’s reading focus is... CHARACTERS
After reading, choose one of the following questions to discuss. Try to discuss a different question each night. Who are the characters? If you could interview the main character, what question would you ask? Compare yourself to the main character. How are you alike/different? What character traits did the main character have? (brave, jealous, smart, helpful, etc.) What two characters were most alike? What two characters were most different? Choose your favorite character. What makes that character your favorites?
