10 HOMEWORK, QUIZZES AND TESTS FOR ALL SCIENCE STUDENTS
Homework and Daily work, labs, are worth 60% of your student’s grade. Students are able to redo homework or quizzes for a better grade. These papers will be returned in the Tuesday folder and will be expected to be corrected and returned by Thursday. Tests, Quizzes and Projects are worth 40% of your student’s grade. If your child makes below a 70% on a test, they are able to correct all their mistakes for up to a 70%. These tests should be signed and must be corrected explaining why their original answers were wrong.. Students will have 2 days to correct these tests. An alternative quiz or test may be given instead of correcting mistakes to raise their grade. Vocabulary words will be posted on my website as we begin each unit.

11 Science on the Move Kids teach younger grades concepts they have just learned. Sometimes the best way to learn is to teach.

12 Science Fair Science Fair is Optional this year. If a student chooses to do a science fair project, it is done mostly at home, and they can earn up to two 100% test grades of extra credit.

13 TUTORING AND EXTRA HELP
Tutoring will be offered on Monday mornings from 7:25- 7:55 for science students who are at-risk of failing the District Final Exam for 6th grade science. This will not start until after the 12 week benchmark. We will focus on past and current objectives in science.. If your student needs help with any science homework or questions. They can speak with me during primetime. Please have them try to do as much as they can at home because there may not be enough time in the morning to get it all done.
