We at ACTi are proud to present Unified Solutions for your projects. But what does a Unified Solution entail? In the following slides, we present how this product, the Edge Recorder Client, delivers the 3 core aspects of an ACTi unified solution, identified as “one,” “all,” and “connect.”
Generally, the “One” aspect describes how the ACTi unified solution architecture applies to any specific vertical application you need in surveillance security management. We provide you the full range of surveillance security products from cameras to central management systems so that you can use any of the components in our ACTi unified solution to fit your application.
The “All” aspect encompasses how each ACTi product provides all the functions you need in a single product to accomplish your critical projects.
And finally, the “Connect” aspect demonstrates how the Active Notification function pulls together and enables the inter-connectivity between each of your ACTi products, giving you the ability to enrich your solution mobility by utilizing ACTi Unified Solution.

Using the jewelry store as an example, the ERC can allow any ACTi camera with local storage capabilities to record video without the use of a dedicated NVR server on-location. Our E97 mini dome is just one of many devices that can be used to do just that.

The Edge Recorder Client also presents to you a simple, NVR-like interface, the details of which we will discuss later. With this interface, the user can search and export video evidence directly from a camera’s onboard storage back to the ERC with ease. Another feature we can implement in this application is the use of the camera’s local storage as a failover solution for file redundancy. If, for any reason, a file is missing at an NVR site, the NVR can request the camera to send the missing video streams from the storage device back to the NVR to compensate for the lost video data.

This application fits here in the grand scheme of the ACTi Unified Solution, where the camera’s storage can be sent back to the Edge Recorder Client when requested.
So far, we have only talked about situations where the user is accessing the ERC on a PC. But what if the user is always on the move?

With the Edge Recorder Client mobile version, you can extend your mobility from local to a wider area. Take music for instance: in the past, you could have only listened to music in your own home on a stationary radio. But now with the help of internet connection, you can listen to your favorite music anywhere, anytime.

What is the price for ACTi Edge Recorder Client for Windows version?
It’s free as long as you purchase ACTi cameras. The video stream integration for local storage is not a standard in the market yet. So it takes extra effort to integrate other cameras.
Does it support third-party cameras like Axis?
No, since every camera manufacturers uses their own format to write video data into their SD storage. Edge Recorder Client is not compatible with third-party cameras.
3. What is the best storage size estimated for my camera solutions?

With regard to pricing, the Edge Record Client is actually free to use as long as ACTi cameras are being used with it.

26. FAQs 4. Does the Edge Recorder Client work with the E96 camera?
Yes, Edge Recorder Client plan to work with E96 in next revision. Please refer to our software roadmap for the exact time.
5. How many concurrent users can access the cameras? It depends on the video quality setting and the session number the camera can handle.
The ERC does work with the E96 and is planned to include dewarping.
The number of concurrent users allowed is dependent on the video quality and network conditions.

6. Is there an option to schedule a download from SD card to a recorder/NAS like Axis?
No, this function is not planned in Edge Recorder Client at present.
Is there a limit to the number of camera connections?
There’s no limit for the camera connection numbers. However, only 16 channels can be viewed in one layout at most.
How many maximum channel does it support in ERC? Does it require license like NVR3?
There’s no limit to add ACTi cameras and it doesn’t need license for camera connections.
There is currently no plans to include a scheduled download from the SD card.
While there is no limit to maximum camera connections, the user may only view up to 16 channels of video at the same time.
There is no limit to the number of ACTi cameras the ERC can add, and there is no license requirements planned.

Will it be integrated into NVR3 in the future as part of the system?
No, this is not planned in NVR3 at present.
When will Edge Recorder Client for Windows be available?
Please refer to ACTi Product Roadmap for latest update.
The features of the ERC are not planned to be included to the standard ACTi NVR.
