4 ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Physical Education and Sports organizes yearly inter school competition for all the Clusters, Zonal and National Level to encourage more participation from students in sports and physical activities.

10 ACCOMMODATION Accommodation for boys and girls will be made separately in our college campus. (Kumararani Meena Muthiah College of Arts and Science, 4 Crescent Avenue, Road, Gandhi Nagar, Adyar, Chennai, Tamil Nadu ) Accommodation is only available for coaches and students. Coaches must have ID Card with school seal and principal signature. Only 1 escort coach for boys & one for girls per school is allowed. (** In case there are additional members accompanying the school team then the respective school Principal must intimate 2 days in advance and they must carry their school Principal’s Attested letter and ID Proof) Students must be guided on discipline and conservation of electricity and water at all times. All room lights must be switched off by p.m. The teams will be provided accommodation on sharing basis for schools that have issued DD and done prior registration. Dhurries and pillows will be supplied. All are advised to carry their own light bedding accordingly. Additional mattress can be provided which is chargeable at Rs. 250/- per day. (This will only be provided to schools that have mailed the request forms in advance along with the scanned copy of DD. Last minute requests will not be possible to fulfil.)

11 DISCIPLINE Each team must have its Manager. All teams and their escorts will be under administrative control of the Organizing Secretary and the Committee. Indiscipline of any team or its member will lead to disqualification of the participant and may be asked to leave campus immediately. Any damage done to the property of the host school during the stay will have to be borne by the respective team. Consumption of tobacco, liquor is strictly prohibited in the campus. Anyone found guilty consuming tobacco, liquor or drugs will be asked to leave the campus immediately. Students must be guided not to run around the corridors. Rest rooms need to be flushed after every use. Participants must take care of their own belongings.

12 SECURITY DEPOSIT Participating teams are requested to deposit an amount of Rs. 2000/- (Rupees Two Thousand Only.) It will be refunded only at the time of departure. Deduction will be done if any damage is done to the host school / Indoor Basket Ball court property. Note ! Please carry sufficient cash for your personal expenses because there is no ATM in the vicinity of the school.

13 MODE OF PAYMENT The mode of payment is only cash
CONSENT / PARTICIPATION Forms should be mailed to confirm on accommodation, food arrangements and for additional mattress. Security Deposit – Rs. 2000/- Additional Mattress charge per head – Rs. 1000/- (i.e., Rs. 250 X 4 days (Note! This is only on prior notice through request form) In order to process refunds if any, we request the school to provide essential bank details. All refunds will be done directly to the schools only.

14 TOURNAMENT GUIDELINES
The tournament will be conducted according to the Basketball Federation of India rules. The number of players representing a school should not exceed more than twelve. All the matches at Cluster level shall be conducted on knock out basis. In case the number of teams is less, the Cluster level tournament too may be organized on league basis. The First position winning team from each Cluster will qualify to participate in National level tournament. At National level, the matches shall be conducted on league cum knock out basis. At National level: All the teams reporting may be divided into different pools in such a way that by and large no pool is of less than four teams. From each pool, the two teams emerging on top will qualify to play the knock-out stage matches. In any match, played on knock out basis including the final, if there is a tie, extension of five minutes shall continue to be given till the game is decided.

15 TOURNAMENT GUIDELINES
8. In case of a tie in matches played on league basis, the following procedure shall decide the winner, runner-up etc. i) The team which has beaten the other team in the league matches shall be the winner. ii) The tie between more than two teams will be decided on the basis of points scored and points against. The team securing the greatest quotient will be the winner. The points scored for and against shall be counted only in the matches played between the teams in tie. iii) If the tie still persists, the formula will be points scored – points against. The team with highest difference is declared the winner. Again the scoring will be counted in the matches played between the teams in tie. 9. The number “6” size Ball will be used for Girls’ matches. 10. A team shall be prepared to play more than two matches in a day 11. All participating teams shall carry with them two sets of playing kit (uniform), one set of light color and the other set of dark color. 12. The team that has been named first in the fixture, will sit on the left side of the Official’s Table, and shall score towards the right side of the court.

13. The school Organizing Cluster level competition shall take a Group Photo of the teams that have qualified to participate at National level competition. The photo shall be signed by the host school Principal and forwarded to the school organizing next level of competition along with the original entry Performa. 14. Protest if any, must be submitted in writing along with the fee within 1 hr after the declaration of the result. 15. In case a team intends to protest against the opposite team; the Captain of team that intends to protest, must sign the score sheet. 16. In case a team forfeits & walks out of the court without completing the match, it shall lose the right to submit any protest and shall be debarred from rest of the tournament.

17 ELIGIBILITY The age of the participants should be followed as per CBSE norms. Each participant must produce an identity card duly signed by the principal valid for running session whenever needed. Principal of the participating school is requested to sign eligibility format. No form will be accepted in poor writing/ overwriting/ cutting/ incomplete. All the supporting papers, verifying age of participant shall be carried by the Team Manager for submission at the host school. Students studying in class IX and X must provide CBSE Registration No. provided by the respective school. Students studying in class XI and XII must provide photocopy of Class X certificate issued by the respective boards and duly attested by the respective school principal. Only bonafide students shall be eligible to participate in the Inter-School tournament/ meets. Feeding any non bonafide student shall lead to disqualification of the team. A student, who failed twice in a particular class, shall no more be eligible to participate.

18 ELIGIBILITY Incomplete information in any respect is liable for disqualification of team. Any violation in eligibility (over age or impersonation) shall be dealt according to rules. The original eligibility Performa of the Players/ Teams qualifying to participate from Cluster level to National Level will be certified by the Organizing school at the Cluster level and forwarded to the National Organizing School, immediately after their Cluster level competition is over. Medical check up may also be applied by the Jury of Appeal appointed by the Organizing school in the cases of overage suspicion. A player shall be under 17 & 19 years of age as on 31 December of the year of the event. Accordingly, for session sports events, the age criteria will be as follows: Under 17 years: Born on or after Under 19 years: Born on or after

19 ELIGIBILITY All supporting papers verifying the age of the player, etc in original, as per the CBSE guidelines & Rules shall be carried personally by the Team Manager/ Coach while reporting for participation. The players’ right to participate forfeits if fails to produce the papers supporting the eligibility in original on demand. any team/ athlete not fulfilling the eligibility criteria before the commencement of the tournament/ meet shall not be permitted.
