Our “Why” Lets Start with Why? – What is it? Who will participate?
To inspire people to do the things that inspire them to make the world better. It just so happens that we have a Volleyball Club in our 2nd year, this year we will be located in Spooner. What is it? A USA Volleyball affiliated Club for High School Girls that participates in competitive volleyball tournaments in the Region and surrounding Badger Region – Wisconsin North Country Region – Minnesota and Points West Who will participate? Primary Target – High School Volleyball Players within a 75 mile radius of Spooner Secondary Target – High Level “2nd Tier” VB Players from other Clubs We have a Board comprised of Directors, Coaches, Family Members, and other stakeholders
4
Our “Why” Where will it happen? When will it occur? Why do we need it?
Practices at Spooner High School, Spooner, WI, with possibility of other locations (player geography and cost) When will it occur? “Season” begins after Thanksgiving for practices, tournaments are generally from January through March 2019 Why do we need it? Our student athletes have very few opportunities locally. High level opportunities are in Twin Cities, Milwaukee and beyond How will we do it? Support of area coaches, players, parents, and school districts

FAQ Does NWVBC conflict with other sports/activities (basketball, dance, etc.)? Please list known/possible conflicts on your Tryout Information Sheet this will not disqualify a player in any way from joining our club We try and keep most of our one day tournaments to a Sunday Knowingly omitting conflicts is unethical AND detrimental to your daughter. We believe Scholastic Sports come first if you are a multi sport athlete. ONLY relevant conflict dates(Weekends / Wednesdays) Do not give entire schedules of basketball, band, dance, ACT/SATs, etc.
36
FAQ What team(s) can I try out for?
Athletes must attend the tryout of their age group (based on birth date) Club Director and Evaluators will determine whether athletes should be offered a position in a higher age group Athletes may be asked to attend a higher age group’s tryout for a 2nd tryout Individual ability and team needs are both factors in placement decisions
37
FAQ I know a player who wants to try out, but cannot afford it. What can she do? Contact the Director to discuss payment plans- Payment plans are kept confidential between parent and club director. Additional Team Fundraisers Ask for donations/contributions Due to WIAA amateur bylaws, clubs cannot offer scholarships or reduced fees.
38
FAQ Do I have to play club to play volleyball in college?
For the majority of colleges, the club season is their recruiting season. Your participation alone helps you be seen by college coaches and shows you are serious about the sport! Ask the coach! Most coaches see club as a necessary transition from the pace of high school play to the pace of college play
39
FAQ Will my conflicts hurt my chances of making a team?
No, please notify NWVBC of Conflicts Volleyball is a team sport. You need to be committed to your team for the duration of the season, as your teammates are depending on you to be at all practices and tournaments. Please, take this into consideration before trying out for one of our teams.
