7 What would be a propaganda poster for your novel’s dystopian society?

8 Assignment due Tues, November 20th
Based on our analysis of propaganda advertisements, use your dystopian society novel to create a propaganda advertisement produced by the “government/power” What message does the “government” in your novel want to get across to the people? What are they covering up? What are they controlling? What sacrifices are the peopled forced to face? How can they put a positive spin on things?

You will continue to learn more as you read ALL DYSTOPIANS HAVE SOME KIND OF CONTROL You might not know who’s in power, but that’s okay! What information would the society like to keep going/ keep people believing in / keep things in order with? Think of the different types of propaganda and consider which tactics your society would rely more heavily on. Would this society be better using fear tactics or positive reinforcement? Even if you are not the best artist (you can totally trace things!) use the rubric to guide your planning for today. A good portion of your grade is based on your explaination!!

10 Assignment Deets… Assessed on:
Theme- have you chosen a theme that is at the central issue of the novel? Slogan- needs to creatively address a social issue as well as persuade us that it’s “best” for the people Images and symbols- used to represent the theme of the novel. Present claims and finds with evidence and sound reasoning. Persuasive qualities- images and words should persuade, through argument, national loyalty, interest, or emotional quality Requirements: Contain Color (color printing is not required) Large, relatable Slogan Must be 18”x24” or larger Well-written explanation of the story’s theme, the images/symbols used, and the meaning behind the slogan. Also describe how your poster uses persuasive qualities and what you are persuading your audience to do.
