What is Crosby Scholars? Free college access program for students grades 6-12 enrolled in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System The program prepares students academically, financially, and personally for successful college enrollment. New or Returning scholars apply/enroll by October 8th What are the Requirements? Attend 1 Crosby Scholar Academy per year* Complete at least 2 hours of community service per year Demonstrate good citizenship in school and community Strive to maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher Attend the College Fair Remain drug and alcohol free

14 Credits Sophomore Status = 5 credits Junior Status = 9 credits
Senior Status = 15 credits Graduation = 22 credits minimum Students receive 1 credit for a yearlong class or full block course and ½ credit for a half year, one period class. Students must receive 60% or above to pass a class and receive credit. 19

15 Grade Point Average (GPA)
Standard Honors AP A B C D F The points earned are divided by the number of units attempted to determine the quality point average. Students receive additional quality points for taking more rigorous courses. 20

16 Weighted GPA will be higher if more rigorous courses are taken
Class Rank is based on weighted GPA (QPA)

17 College Entrance Standards
A minimum of 2.5 GPA is required for admission to most 4-year colleges, 17 ACT Composite, 880 SAT (Critical Reading and Math) For more information about specific college entrance standard averages, visit bigfuture.collegeboard.org or CFNC.org
