Asynchronous Payroll
Functionality has changed to address timeout of Payroll Request in Production
When submitting a request to preview or process payroll,
A User doesn’t have to wait for the processing to be completed. The User can now navigate to other areas of the Workforce Now application and return to see the status.

Asynchronous Payroll gives you the flexibility to navigate to other areas of the application while you are previewing and processing payroll and Records of Employment.

7. WFN Preview / Process Payroll Verification - Validation
As you know, you cannot have a pay date in the past in your payroll schedule.

8. Preview / Process Payroll Submitted – In-Progress
The status bar gives real time information on the status - In Progress, Completed or Failed.
When the Preview / Process function is progressing, the NEXT STEPS links are greyed out at the bottom. 1

You can’t send another preview for one company until the preview is completed. If the organization has multiple companies, you can preview one company’s payroll, then preview another company’s payroll while you’re waiting. 2

9. Preview / Process Payroll Submitted – Failed
If the status of the Preview / Process is Failed then if the user hovers over the failed icon message, it will display the action to be taken.

Once the Preview is completed, the status bar & Company ID bar is updated

The Request Status column is added to Multi-Company Grid for Preview Payroll & Process Payroll screens 1 1

To prevent duplicate requests on Multi Company Grid during the processing of Payroll. The action icon is disabled only while processing.
The status will display the last requestor’s User ID and Date / Time stamp.

Status of last request is displayed (Preview or Process)

14. WFN ROE Direct File
Practitioner will be able to see the status of the ROE Direct File Preview & Process requests while the request is processing. User can navigate to other pages during processing. A new column of Request Status is added.
The expected statuses are:
Submitted, In Progress, Completed & Failed
The last requested status will display the Requestor and Date / Time stamp.
Under the Exclusions / Warnings, it will display ROE Direct File Preview request is in Progress and it will display ROE Direct File Process request is in Progress
Once the Preview or process is completed, the Status will display either Preview or Process is completed.

User is prevented from submitting another ROE Preview or Process request while there is already an ROE request in Submitted / In Progress status
During the processing of ROE preview or Process: under the action icon the user will not see the options to RUN.
Prevent ROE Preview / Process request when there is concurrent Payroll Preview / Process request.
In ROE Direct File page, Under the Exclusions / Warnings, it will display Preview / Process Payroll request is In progress hence will not allow the user to Run Preview or Process on an ROE.
