1 1 Jn. 2:15-17 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

2 16 For all that is in the worldthe lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of lifeis not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

5 What is the World ? Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world. Jas. 1:27

6 What is the World ? Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Jas. 4:4

13 1. Recognize that this is not Gods perfect love We are seeking the will of the Father God offers much more than the world

14 1. Recognize that this is not Gods perfect love Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God

15 1. Recognize that this is not Gods perfect love by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

16 2. Recognize that the world does not deliver what it offers Will ultimately make us unhappy All these things pass away
